What it takes to keep your epoxy floor looking great? Occasional sweeping and washing is a great way to keep the surface looking clean, but maintaining the shine of epoxy flooring can be a little more than you might expect. Here are some of the tips and techniques for keeping your epoxy floor looking like new.
Sweep Your Floors Daily
A regular sweeping is advised to avoid the dirt and dust building up on the surface as these can act as an abrasive which can prematurely age the surface.
Wash Your Floors Weekly
Your everyday dish washing liquid is the best thing to clean your epoxy flooring. Normally damp sponge mop is more than sufficient to clean an epoxy coated and sealed floor. Rinse completely and allow to dry or blow dry with a leaf blower.
Clean Spills Immediately
Be aware that after some chemical spillages whether they are small or large, there are certain chemicals that may well cause some color changes to your epoxy flooring. If this happens, make sure to clean the surface as soon as possible.
Treat Stains Appropriately
Abrasive cleansers must not be used. This chemical will harm your floor and your skin.
Keep Sharp Objects Away
To prevent the appearance of scratches, heavy machinery, pallets, and sharp objects should not be slid, scraped, or dropped on the floor.
